“Enjoying the Outdoors” Photo Contest

The Rice Creek Watershed District is announcing the “Enjoying the Outdoors” Photo Contest! Enter as often as you’d like by submitting photos taken within the boundaries of Rice Creek Watershed District that depict the theme “Enjoying the Outdoors.” Contest winners will be featured in the 2006 RCWD calendar, on the RCWD website and in various RCWD publications.

Submit your entries (either 35mm or digital photos) to: Dawn Dubats, RCWD Environmental Education Coordinator, 4325 Pheasant Ridge Dr. NE #611, Blaine, MN 55449-4539 by October 14, 2005. Contest Rules
Who?
1. Anyone is eligible. You do not need to live within the boundaries of the Rice Creek Watershed District (RCWD). Enter as often as you would like.

What?
2. We would like to see photos of the RCWD lakes and streams, area attractions, nature shots, wildlife, fall colors, hiking, fishing, canoeing, swimming, golfing, sledding, skiing, etc. We need photos of all four seasons so even photos that are a couple years old are acceptable, as long as the subjects are still current.

Where?
3. Photos must be taken within the Rice Creek Watershed District boundaries on public or private lands. (For a District map, see the next page or call the RCWD at 763.398.3070).

When?
4. Entries for the 2006 Calendar must be received no later than October 14th, 2005.

Why?
5. The Rice Creek Watershed District has many beautiful areas unknown to area residents. Your pictures will help others discover what’s “in their back yard.”

How?
6. Photos can be 35 mm or digital but must be in color and a horizontal format. If mailing in a print, please submit a 4x6, 5x7 or 8x10.
7. Please include the following information with each photo submission:

Contestant's name
Address
Phone Number
e-mail (optional)
The location of where the photo was taken
How you heard about the photo contest

8. Submit photos by mail or electronically to:

9. Contestants must know the names and addresses of all identifiable persons in the photo. Winners will be required to supply a release form for each identifiable person in the photo.
10. Receipt of photos will not be acknowledged unless an email address is provided. Photos will not be returned. The RCWD assumes no responsibility for the photos.
11. Thirteen photos will be selected for awards (one for each month and one for the cover of the calendar.) The winning photos will also be posted on the website and in various publications, newsletter articles and brochures. Photos will be accredited in every publication. Winners will be required to sign a publicity release and permission to reprint the photos.
