New Permit Fees
A new permit fee structure was adopted by the Rice Creek Watershed District Board of Managers at its April 27th, 2005 meeting. These new fees go into effect immediately and are reflected on our permit application which has now been revised and is available, as always, on the "Permits" page of this website. The new fee structure has been added to the application which has been revised slightly in other ways. As before, government projects are not subject to RCWD permit fees. Please read on for more information.
New Conditional Permit Approval Process
At its April 13th meeting, the Rice Creek Watershed District (RCWD) Board of Managers approved a new process for handling permit applications when they are issued a conditional approval or CAPROC by the Board. When a permit is granted CAPROC (Conditional Approval Pending Receipt Of Changes) status, this indicates that the District has nearly all exhibits required for the adequate review and approval of a permit, and issuance of the permit is only dependent on a few items which can then be approved administratively via the staff of the RCWD. Further Board action is not required. The applicant then has 12 months from the meeting date to submit/satisfy the pending items as identified in the Engineer’s Report. After this time, the application approval lapses and a new application will need to be submitted and considered by the Board of Managers. No extensions will be granted by the staff.
Best Management Practices
The Rice Creek Watershed District and our consulting engineers (Emmons & Olivier Resources) have put together a number of resources for project managers to use in implementing Best Management Practices (BMPs) on their project sites. Because the practices detailed here are often unfamiliar to those in a position to implement them, these guidance documents and resources were assembled to properly plan and construct them as a part of a project.
