Statement From RCWD Board Regarding “Zoom” Board Meetings
Statement from the Rice Creek Watershed District Board
At the 3/26/2025 RCWD Board meeting, unauthorized individuals gained access to our virtual “Zoom” meeting link and briefly disrupted proceedings with inappropriate interruptions that were wholly unrelated to District or other governmental business. While the situation was quickly addressed, the Rice Creek Watershed District Board takes these incidents very seriously and is committed to ensuring that our Board meetings remain professional, accessible, and productive.
To prevent future disruptions, the RCWD Board will be reviewing and implementing additional security measures for virtual meetings. This may include implementing access controls for virtual meetings; and other safeguards to allow District business to be conducted without inappropriate disruption.
Public engagement is important to us, and we want to ensure that all who wish to participate in our meetings can do so in a respectful and orderly environment. We appreciate our community’s patience and support as we take steps to strengthen our virtual meeting procedures. We will provide updates on any changes to our virtual meeting protocols and procedures as they are implemented.
